Quarterly Update - Q1 2011

Now that things are finally settled and we’re back into a routine (of sorts), I can devote a bit more time to the things that really matter. Namely, going on all sorts of mini-vacations in the South Island and tracking Charlie’s progress through Winning Therapy.

This is going to be a long-ish post split into several segments, because I actually accomplished alot during Q1 2011 and had a pretty fun time to boot.

The year started off with four weeks of leave, as our office shut down from Christmas Eve until the 24th of January. Accordingly, I relocated to Christchurch for the entire month, and went on two mini-vacations in between.
New Year’s Eve was a bit understated this year – even more so when compared to the hilarious gong show that was Sydney the year before.

I spent most of the night on the Spinal Ward, watching the obligatory New Year’s comedy specials, and eventually retired to the Burwood hostel to watch the annual “Queen didn’t want to attend so Prince Charles went along” variety show. The highlight was the performance by Take That – it was weird and strange, and featured a boy band over a decade past their prime. Also, this image from Technicool:

N’SYNC, I’m still waiting for your reunion tour. And, once again, I went to bed at approximately 12:05am.
